Fixing Digital Setlist Creation for Bands

Yet another method for bands to not forget their songs while playing live

Last year I became a proud member of the German pop band called Die Lillis.

I don’t play instruments but I help with stuff like marketing and planning live gigs for our band.

Gig preparation includes the creation of a final setlist. Every band member on stage needs to know which songs to play, and when.

While handwritten setlists are still a thing, most of the time the setlist is created (manually) inside an office writing program, either as a plain text list or a table, and then printed on standard A4 paper.

As a draft for rehearsals both approaches are, well, good enough.

But when it comes to gigs a more robust solution is needed. I think my approach works well for now: https://frjk.de/setlist/

Why handwritten setlists suck

Having bits of paper everywhere is not a good idea if you want to get all your band members on the same page (literally).

Chaos is often the norm in rehearsal rooms and not everybody has his mind on the seemingly insignificant details of planning the upcoming gig.
